Okay, listen. I confess: I’m kind of a newbie at the whole “book trailer” biz. I don’t know what they’re all about – and frankly, neither do my bookish, English Lit PhD-wielding friends. (“I’ve never heard of a book trailer,” my BFF Steph wrote to me recently.) I have been trying to figure out what they’re for.
Well, friends, the penny has dropped. I get it now. And I get it precisely because of this Epic Book Trailer created for True Born (honestly, I had no idea this was even in the works).
This book trailer makes me think of really interesting sci-fi TV shows involving twins and gene wars, which is also ironic. Here’s why: the book trailer was released last Thursday, the same day that news broke that Glamazon Pictures has optioned world wide rights for True Born. They intend to make True Born into a TV show.
Here’s hoping True Born the TV show is at least as good as this (awesome! incredible! superfun!) book trailer (though I have faith that it will blow my mind).

This is both an interesting marketing support idea and a fascinating business concept.

This is amazing news!!!! A TV show? I’d definitely watch that. Also, I love-hate book trailers. They can be really useful particularly in a world where more people browse YouTube and less browse bookshops. What I don’t like is that a good majority of book trailers are terrible. So I’m glad True Born’s trailer turned out pretty cool!
